Motorcycle Leather

Motorcycle leather comes in many forms. Leather motorcycle jackets, pants, gloves and boots all serve the purposes of fashion and protection. As long as motorcycles have been around, riders have been wearing motorcycle leather. In popular culture, this style has come to represent a particular lifestyle. The loner, the outsider, has come to be portrayed as a motorcycle jacket wearing, quiet stranger. This image has been seen in movies for many years.

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation recommends wearing leather to provide protection in case of a fall or accident. This clothing is made to be comfortable while sitting in the riding position and to provide a high level of personal protection. Motorcycle leather will help to keep out wind, keep you warm and has extra padding in case of a fall.

Motorcycle leather is not restricted to jackets. Riders are encouraged to wear pants, gloves and boots as well. Leather boots will protect the rider from stones that may fly up from the road, heat from the bike and potential twisting of the ankles. Gloves protect the hands from wind, debris and can protect the wrists in the event of a fall.
